Yep, it's March! And I put off writing my Feb Diary until now - oh oh - starting to slack? Well, let's get it on! On 6th Feb we presented "Wenn die Zeit kommt" at this years Berlin Short Film Festival and it was a blast. Seeing the film on the big screen was a very cool experience, but what I enjoyed even more, were the conversations I had after. Just sitting down with friends, many of them had not seen the film before, and talking about our thoughts really was something. It once again made me realise, that with projects like this it does not matter how many people see it. They produce ripples going through people, which move on through people we don't even know. And from there even further... this is what matters. That these are nice ripples. Moving a tiiiiny bit of positive energy through the world. I got so much positive energy back that night. Even though during the screening, quite frankly, I felt very overwhelmed and even bad. Out of many reasons, I will not get into now. What I got back after was the best cure for that feeling, even more. It was worth more than any award or amounts of views - also we didn't win! But that's okay. I didn't see the winning film, but the films in our screening block were all cute and nice to watch. And we are not in it for the awards. Thanks for having us Berlin Short Film Festival ! I can say so much: there is another festival coming up, another European capital, also with a big tower. Alise and I are probably going there at the end of this month. I will keep you updated! But life is not only about making films. Alise and I also had an amazing holiyay at the Baltic Sea. We went to the stereotypical German vacation island Rügen and what can I say: I get the hype. But we also were very lucky with the weather. The whole sea was frozen, which apparently only happens every 15-20 years (pictures below) and we had a sweet little house with a fireplace and a sauna, just a 5min walk from the beach. But there was no beach, only ice. And a cute town around. We went on a ride on the historical steam locomotive Rasender Roland (legend) and visited an old English submarine. We also made a film, Blair Witch Project meets Antarctica . But that is a different story. And I know, I know, everybodys been asking - so here comes another poem for you <3 Dein Zimmer Es stehen zwischen Berggipfeln und Ruinen, zwischen Lilien und den Sternen, die Enden deines Bettes zum Himmel und zu mir. //// Your Room Standing in between mountain tops and ruins, between lillachs and stars; your bedends, for heaven and me. Glowing, for the moons, the walls and suns, for the weeds of my nights, your eyes, back into time. Green and blue the sun- and the moonlight (night's) colours, with (Monet's) brush, a pushing shimmer. I miss you through the winds, a storm may be to tame and still I have arrived back in your room, again. /// thank you for reading. see you soon 🫡🫶 //

...is the logline of "Wenn die Zeit kommt" (eng: When The Time Comes) and I wanted to update you about this dear project: First, we have finished the post-production process, so I will share some more stills with you at the end of this text. Second, at the moment we are in the process of submitting the film to film festivals, as that is basically the only thing to do with the breadless work which is a short film. Although I am not one to announce such things usually, I am happy to say that the Berlin Short Film Festival already was so kind to nominate us along other beautiful projects, which I am excited to see on the 6th & 7th February, 2026 in the Babylon cinema in Mitte. One of my favourite cinemas in Berlin! I will try to report back:) A question that seems so close to me, yet luckily often rather far, is the usual: what are the whys and hopes of this project? I would not fully know, to be honest with you. Yet I feel this might be something special. It is a project built on love and passion, from all involved. And I would say we managed to capture the essence of these feelings. It is a project that taught me that relying on gut feeling can result in wonderful moments. And the beautiful thing about film is, you get to capture these seemingly fleeting moments as eternal images, with people shaping the lights around, the sounds to be heard and the actors creating life and meaningful scenes out of those moments, which before only were bare, unarticulated dreams. I feel gratitude for this. And if my journey of filmmaking would end with this project, I shall remain grateful. Now that is a feeling, that I have not known before and typing it out here makes me feel exposed. Yet, I hope you, who reads this, feel what I mean, without having to cynically put it down as the ramble it might as well be. And maybe this text transmits some of that gratitude and love I feel for this project to what is going on for you at the moment. Because another thing that working on this project over the past 1.5 years has taught me is, that honest love and gratitude can open doors, which might seem shut, glue all kinds of people together and get you to serene locations, at just the right time. In days that sometimes seem so dire & dark, love & gratitude are little sunbeams in the rain. Although little and scarce at first, they are ever unaffected by the gloominess around and we can trust on them to carry some hope for the future. So let's try and spread them while we can! Now enough pathos! Here are some further stills of "Wenn die Zeit kommt" (colour grading administered by the one and only Tobi S.) - more to come in due time :) in l&g, pas
New year, new ... well, I have decided to leave IG for now. It's been a fun ride, the last 13-14(?!) years, until it wasn't. Did not give me much recently, in the opposite, it took a lot of energy from me. All the politics, the hypes, trends, AI 🤖 - it started to feel phony. It probably always was, but social media has progressed to feeling far from social for me. More of a vacuum, sucking attention and good moods out of me. Both things I highly value, so here I am. Complaining ol' unc. On a silly lil website I made. Mostly for myself. Like if you want to hear my thoughts on politcs haha - jk - or maybe not. One day I might do it!! Anyways... I want to write more again, I told myself, for this year. So here we goooo:) I got some poems I want to share. Better than politics. No one likes poems, I know! But politics we like even less. Also, this be my website, so I can do what I like and if you don't, well there are many different things to look at on your screen. I want to be less of a people pleaser, so this is my chance! Anyway, here comes the first one. I wrote it in autumn 2024, yet it feels more present than ever. German OG-Version, then the English translation (I tried). Yes, that's how the world ends Red Roses, splitburst sidewalks - yes, that's how the world ends. Flags, flying out the car, peace only screamed for in anger. Yes, that's how the world ends. Foes, enemies all around - yes, that's how the world ends. And then love, fully born out of hate. Yes, that's how the world begun. Against the heart and for the irony of fate - yes, that's how the world ends. --- Thank you, if you are one of the two people reading this! <3 Hopefully I manage to post more. Sending love.

In July 2024 I began working on what came to be my most recent short film "Wenn die Zeit kommt" ( When the Time Comes ) Here's a quick synopsis: Hannah feels that a recent personal loss is somehow connected to the preservation of peace in Europe. The chaos around her blends with her inner world, in which a great war seems inevitable. Seeking calm, she visits her childhood friend Marlene in their home village, hoping to regain the peace she once knew. To bring this story to life I teamed up with Nono Bikovsky (DoP), to take care of the visuals and Hannah Flader of the production side of things. With music by my trusted long time collaborators Steffen Weis and Max Melüh, this quickly turned into a dear and personal, yet somehow universal, project. My hopes and expectations started growing. Through some uncalled for allignment of stars (hehe) Hannah Gharib and Malene Becker, two very talented upcoming actors, agreed to step infront of the camera, as the leads of the film. Now, working with this cast and an amazing crew we shot the film in 4 days (and two additional half days for B-Roll) in May 2025, at some beautiful locations. Most memorable a very special house in Brandenburg, but also other lovely places in Berlin, all provided by people, who out of pure kindness, helped us shape the film into... well, one day you might be able to find out into what. All I can say is, that I am beyond greatful for the love and support from everyone in and around this film so far and that we are currently working on the last steps of post-production and our very first real festival run. Fingers crossed some of the festival jurys feel what we felt while creating this little "mosaic of time" as my good friend Andrei would call it. And I hope you will too, once we can screen the film somewhere at your local internet video service. Stay tuned - and until then enjoy this mix of BTS and stills <3
